We had some fun this month working with our Japanese distributor, Joy Surf Japan designing some fins to suit the Japanese summer.
A limited production of twins and keels was created, available exclusively for our Japanese stockists with the plan to continue the series with more original releases in the future.
Muted coffee and matcha tones were chosen to help match the kind of tints we were seeing in the Japanese stores.
Here’s a run down of the two sets.
We scaled down our Classic Twin slightly to create the small twin, a loose and free twin to suit a wide range of boards.
After having a bunch of shapers requesting a smaller template for their channel twins, we scaled down the Classic Twin. Channels bottoms don’t need so much fin, so we reduced the tip area and added a 70/30 foil, eliminating the grab that can happen with a flat inside edge.
The small twin was designed to be responsive and alive. With a stiff base for drive, and a foiled out tip to flex under load and project out of turns.
Designed to suit the wide tail fishes and stretched out channel twins of the moment, we added a 70/30 foil to our Modern Keel for a smoother flowing ride.
Medium rake for tight turns, with a mellow front edge staying true to the classic keel fin ethos.
